My Approach
Healing is a very personal journey and my goal is to support each person in connecting with their inner wisdom and intuition. The most beautiful thing in the healing process is witnessing clients' discovering that they have the tools and understanding within themselves to move through and transform, even in the most tragic of circumstances. Usually negative self talk is a major road block in engaging in the healing process. Clients can be their worst judge and critic. Through the process of therapy each person will learn techniques towards self-awareness and mindfulness practices that help quiet the negative self talk and move us towards a more authentic understanding.
I strive to create a safe and creative environment for clients to explore and express their thoughts and feelings. Using both verbal and creative approaches deepens the clients experience.
By encouraging my clients to work in the here and now, staying with the present moment, it allows them to engage fully in life while not running away from the things they struggle with. The past always presents itself in the present moment regardless of whether or not the client is speaking about it. It is my hope that through the experience of therapy people will connect with their own innate knowing, develop self trust, and deepen their connection to their lives.
I use a transpersonal and humanistic approach in my therapy work. Drawing from the areas of Gestalt, mindfulness meditation and Jungian archetypes my clients are creatively challenged to face their struggles with support, humor and clarity.
